Job Description
An employer sitting in Petaluma, CA is looking to hire an onsite Electrical Engineer. This person is going to be hands-on and heavily involved in system integration and continual new integration for their uncrewed VTOL aircraft product. He/She will be working independently to design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications. This business segment has 8+ active customers, where they are providing a customized solution for each customer. This Electrical Engineer will be dedicating their time to production, troubleshooting support, R+D design and integration, as well as new product integration as they're transitioning from design into production. In this role, one selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability as well as determines design approaches & parameters. Conducts general engineering and design of electronic systems on small unmanned aircraft vehicles with cross-functional teams. Yhis position also might require some travel in support of flight test operations (up to 30%). This position will be M-Friday in Petaluma, CA with occasional remote days working a 9/80 schedule. Depending on years of experience this role is paying between $100,000-145,000.
Additional Position Responsibilities:
• Performs simulation and detailed design for digital and analog circuits
• Drives system integration, assembly procedures, and test procedures
• Documents designs with engineering drawings and written descriptions
• Trouble-shoots complex systems from a hardware and software perspective
• Designs, builds, and tests prototypes expediently and efficiently
• Works with avionics, embedded systems, and RF links. Writes software to support the integration of sensors and embedded processors
• Designs and implements circuit boards. This includes architecture, component selection, schematic capture, board layout, board bring-up, and documentation
Performs electronic engineering support activities on R&D projects. Performs design & analysis tasks and writes fabrication & test procedures

Skills and Requirements
- Obtained Bachelor's Degree
- Ability to work in a fast-paced design environment
- Knowledgeable from design requirements through to hands-on integration (on an aircraft )
- 3-8+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering experience; relative to uncrewed, autonomous systems
- Experienced with Circuit and Harness Designs, using Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout
- Experienced with power electronics, including motors and Battery Technology (lead acid, Nickel metal hybride & Lithium ion)
- Demonstrated familiarity of common industry protocols (LVDS, I2C, HDMI, UART, SPI, CAN, USB)
- Some travel may be required in support of flight test operations (up to 30%)
- Experienced in one or more areas: Radio Frequency (RF), embedded control, FPGA
