    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a Python Data Engineer for one of our largest oil and gas clients in Downtown Houston, TX. The ideal candidate for this position will possess 3 to 5 years of experience working in python, expertise in FastAPI and microservices architecture/coding, have hands-on deployment experience on Docker, Kubernetes and monitoring tools, experience with automated testing and test driven development, and expertise in both on-perm SQL DBs, including oracle, SQLServer, Postgres, and DB2, and NoSQL.. This person should also have experience with Git Source control, git actions, CI/CD, VScode, and copilot. This position is 3 days a week onsite, and the pay ranges from $60-71.43/hr.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Strong proficiency in python; 3-5 years experience.

     

    Expertise in fast api and microservices architecture and coding

     

    Deployments on docker, Kubernetes and monitoring tools

     

    Experience with Automated testing and test driven development

     

    Git source control, git actions, ci/cd , VS code and copilot

     

    Expertise in both on prem sql dbs (oracle, sqlserver, Postgres, db2) and no sql databases

     

    Working knowledge of data warehousing and ETL

    Able to explain the business functionality of the projects/applications they have worked on

    Cloud computing - is optional. If only experience is on AWS, GCS, Azure - not a good fit for us.
