Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2224P01 and is part of the 106TH RQW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. This is a temporary NTE 1 year appointment. Responsibilities As a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0089-09, you will execute the Emergency Management (EM), Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN), and Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) emergency response, logistics, and training programs. The position develops, manages, and executes the EM programs, ensuring all military, civilian and contract personnel are trained and equipped to support home station and worldwide contingency operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least GS-7. Experience and knowledge in applying a comprehensive range of principles, concepts and practices relating to emergency management operations in carrying out the full scope of emergency management operations for the ANG Aviation Wing and supported units. Experience and knowledge of a variety of emergencies, hazards, or natural and man-made/technological (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, high-yield explosives) incidents. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Education College academic courses or technical school education in business management, speech, English grammar, algebra, biology, physics, chemistry, and computer operations. You must provide Official transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. Additional Information If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (Register | Selective Service System : Selective Service System (sss.gov)). Must possess or obtain (and maintain), within six (6) months of appointment to position, hazardous materials level training certifications through International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Pro Board Fire Service Professional Qualifications System Awareness, Operations, and Technician to perform containment, control, detection, and identification. Proficiency in these requirements is essential to maintaining this position. This position may be designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507. Duties of this position may be locally determined to be essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available. Key designation should be determined locally.
