Expected Work Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm with some flexibility and a minimum of at least two in-person days per week on College-designated common attendance days.
Job Description
Working with the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing (HIGN) to support grants and programs that are administered by HIGN. This person will complete financial analyses and manage the finances of the grants and contracts within HIGN. They will review budgets taking into consideration actual performance, previous expenditures, and estimated expenses and income and interpret financial reports. They will maintain accurate spending records.
They will develop and implement a marketing plan and communication processes for HIGN interfacing with the College's Finance, Grants, and Communication Offices.
Responsibilities:
Conduct financial analyses. Manage program budgets, develop financial plans, and monitor budget workflow and allocations. Monitor and interpret budget reports to ensure funding availability and posting of journal entries. Develop databases and other forecasting models and conduct business trends analysis. Work with unit leads to project spending needs and make recommendations for budget actions and decisions. Communicate, provide guidance and help enforce financial policies and procedures and monitor, evaluate and advise on applications of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with University and Department policies. Facilitate financial transactions including payroll allocations, implementing internal control procedures according to University and grantee policies and procedures, reviewing and approving requests. Determine appropriateness of transaction based on analysis of accounts current financial status and anticipated expenditures, knowledge of University and grantee guidelines and University and College financial policies.
Review revenues and expense transactions; analyze and reconcile accounts as requested in compliance with University policies and procedures. Consult with appropriate University offices to investigate and resolve problem transactions. Resolve funding and cost allocation issues, review previous expenditure patterns, evaluate requests, investigate questions and concerns, and approve and deny requests. Serve as a central point of contact for procedural questions and fiscal inquiries.
Provide on-going administrative support for assigned projects, including the coordinating meetings with groups to achieve project goals, developing timelines, outlining deliverables, and providing feedback and clarification to HIGN staff. Provide practical and economical solutions to new business needs and recommend refinement and/or modification of workflows; prepare feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis.
Develop and implement a robust strategy that positions HIGN as a thought leader in the care of older adults. Create materials that are aligned with our goals to support projects and promote new products and programs. Identify, analyze and engage target audiences. Manage communications including the HIGN newsletter and social media and work with HIGN instructional design and technology team and the college’s communications office to ensure consistency in branding and messaging.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the budgeted salary for this position is $74,623. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field
