SUMMARY OF JOB

Director, Senior Behavioral Health Unit Program ( Geri Psych Unit Program Director )

Under the supervision of the Physician Director of the SBHU, the Program Director is responsible for the daily management and operations of the SBHU. The Program Director plans, directs and evaluates psychiatric services in the SBHU, ensuring high-quality care that complies with state and federal regulations. The Program Director is responsible for ensuring quality of care for all behavioral health patients, the financial viability of the service, and the expansion and growth of behavioral health programming.

Position responsibilities include supervising clinical and non-clinical staff, managing daily operations of the SBHU, managing budgets and financial operations, and collaborating with internal departments and external organizations to enhance program growth and community outreach. In addition, the position is responsible for planning, communicating, coordinating, collaborating, directing, assessing and educating staff and others, as needed, to achieve high performance standards for the assigned unit.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS

+ Masters or Doctoral degree in Behavioral Health/Social Services, Nursing or related field

+ Minimum of 10 years’ experience in behavioral health management, program development and staff supervision

+ Excellent communication and organizational skills

+ Proven ability to effectively collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals

+ Availability 24/7 to field calls from the SBHU and Emergency Department during off hours

LICENSE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:

Relevant professional licensure such as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or current Pennsylvania RN license, as appropriate
