    Summary

    We are a leading Life Safety and Electronic Security company specializing in government infrastructure projects. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Site Safety, Health, and Quality Control Officer (SSHO/QC) to support an upcoming project involving the upgrade of civil infrastructure, telecommunications/fiber systems, and fire alarm systems at a military installation in Alaska.

     

    _**This position is contingent upon contract award, and work location would be Shemya Islank, AK**_

    Responsibilities

    + Serve as the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO), responsible for the overall safety and health compliance of the construction site. Collaborate with the project management team to develop, implement, and maintain an effective safety and health program that ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

    + Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive site-specific Safety and Health Plan in accordance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 standards.

    + Develop, implement, and maintain a project-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP) that meets project requirements and aligns with industry’s best practices.

    + Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, verify quality compliance, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks and address non-conformities.

    + Document inspection findings, maintain accurate and current quality control records, and report deviations or non-conformities to project management.

    + Provide safety and quality control training to personnel and ensure adherence to established safety protocols and quality standards.

    + Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all safety and quality-related documentation, including incident reports, training logs, inspection records, and meeting minutes.Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and quality issues to determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.

    + Act as the primary point of contact for all safety, health, and quality-related matters, including coordination with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients.Coordinate with project management to ensure the safe and quality-compliant planning, scheduling, and execution of all work activities.

    + Foster a strong safety culture and commitment to quality among all team members through consistent communication and reinforcement of best practices.

    + Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    + Minimum of 5 years of combined experience as a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) and/or Quality Control Representative on construction projects, preferably in a military or government environment.

    + OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification.

    + EM 385-1-1 training and practical experience.

    + Construction Quality Management Certification (CQMC).

    + Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

    + Strong knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal safety, health, and quality regulations.

    _Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.

    + Willingness to work on-site in Fairbanks, Alaska, for the duration of the project.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    + Strong written communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and the ability to present technical information clearly and effectively.

    + The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    + The employee will be required to work in a remote location in Alaska under extreme weather conditions.
