Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ Responsibilities: Supports the daily operation of an academic department within a school or college in support of faculty needs, primarily in the areas of human resources, compliance and financial management. Represents the department on business affairs and/or faculty affairs to the institution community. Develops and prepares budgets and financial reports for grants, general appropriations, endowments, and other funds. Provides input into non-technical portions of grant and contract proposals. Coordinates and participates in a variety of human resources activities including employment, labor relations, benefits, training, and classification for unit/department. Liaises with faculty. Acts as a resource for lower level staff. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + Manages the talent acquisition process for faculty. Processes personnel actions forms, creates faculty reports, confirms teaching statements and salary letters throughout the year, and maintains the up-to-date faculty personnel records. Advises leadership on recruitment process, requirements, and timelines. + Responds to data requests for various surveys that determine the ranking of the school throughout the year. Works with leadership to resolve discrepancies. Manages the faculty database and a large volume of diverse and complex materials/documentation of a confidential nature. + Compiles all necessary documents for promotion and tenure cases and submits to necessary offices in a timely manner, while ensuring compliance with University policies. Reviews sabbatical requests for completeness and accuracy. Prepares appropriate paperwork, approvals, and notifications to department leadership. + Supports office and leadership. Manages the department website using knowledge of programs and policies. Manages department leadership's calendar and arranges meetings with leadership. + Verifies validity of academic payroll records each month and resolves discrepancies by comparing with personnel records, employee database source documents, status records, and salary list. + Other duties as assigned.
