Summary of the Job:
As the Senior Associate, Issue Management, you will serve as a subject matter expert in the investigation, analysis, and resolution of consumer protection, operational risk, and wealth management issues. This position is responsible for leading complex issue assessments and driving cross-functional remediation efforts that strengthen the organization’s overall risk management framework.
Operating with a high degree of independence, this role partners closely with business unit leaders, Compliance, Risk, and Audit to ensure issues are accurately defined, root causes are systematically identified, and sustainable corrective actions are implemented. The Senior Associate applies advanced analytical thinking, expert-level regulatory knowledge, and strategic judgment to evaluate emerging risks, shape process improvements, and influence change across the enterprise.
This position requires strong communication and diplomacy skills to convey complex and sensitive concepts to senior audiences and to guide stakeholders toward practical, compliant solutions.
About This Role:
Job Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
+ Leading and executing end-to-end root cause analysis on complex issues and operational risks identified through control testing, monitoring, complaints, audit findings, or governance reviews—ensuring consistency with enterprise risk management expectations.
+ Drafting and reviewing high-quality issue documentation, including issue statements, risk impact assessments, and corrective action plans that meet regulatory and internal governance standards.
+ Owning remediation lifecycle oversight—from action plan development through implementation, validation, and closure—to ensure sustainable resolution and proper documentation retention.
+ Advising business units on risk mitigation strategies, control enhancements, and process improvements that prevent recurrence.
+ Designing and delivering reporting, analytics, and trend insights to senior leadership, leveraging data visualization and quantitative metrics to identify systemic risk patterns.
+ Providing program leadership and coaching by delivering training and serving as a go-to resource for Issue Management policies, tools, and methodologies.
+ Preparing for and representing the Issue Management function during internal audits, regulatory exams, and risk committee discussions.
+ Influencing program evolution, contributing to continuous enhancement of Issue Management procedures, standards, and reporting mechanisms.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in consumer protection, operational risk, or wealth management compliance at a mid- to large-sized financial institution.
+ Demonstrated expertise in issue management, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.
+ Proven experience communicating with and influencing senior leadership.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with exceptional attention to detail.
+ Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite and comfort with data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
+ Experience driving cross-functional remediation initiatives and building consensus across multiple stakeholders.
Desired:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Data Analytics, or related field.
+ Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or equivalent certification.
+ Experience mentoring others or providing leadership within a compliance or risk function.
+ Familiarity with SQL or similar data querying languages.
+ Experience engaging directly with regulators or external auditors.
Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.
Compensation:
Compensation range (base pay): $80,061.00-$132,099.00
_This role may have a specific starting pay within this range._
Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Work Environment:
It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week. As part of our team, you'll experience the energy and relationship-building of face-to-face collaboration while still enjoying the flexibility of remote workdays. We provide the tools and technology to ensure seamless transitions between work environments, supporting your productivity wherever you are. Please note that work location is subject to change based on business needs.
