Collins Aerospace is looking for an experienced Sr Service Engineer to join their Manpack service engineering and support team located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We are seeking a self-starter who is capable of working independently and in group settings and who is comfortable around military customers who are high-ranking officers and enlisted maintainers.
The candidate will be responsible for coordination of activities with the customer, communicating with Program Management, Design Engineering, and other Service Engineers on a variety of programs supported by the military aviation systems and support product line team. Candidate must possess the necessary people skills to effectively communicate with customers, internal and external to Collins Aerospace under a wide variety of environments. Candidate will be required to attend a variety of meetings/events that are both internal and external facing and document the discussions for the program team. Installation of equipment at remote military controlled sites will be required and must be performed in accordance with engineering specifications. This individual will participate in determining objectives of assignments.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
+ Provide on-site maintenance capabilities to include component triage & testing, determine faulty condition, repair, replace, and upgrade as needed.
+ Interfacing with customers (both internal and external) with a wide range of system understanding.
+ Execute program milestones according to established schedule and ensure critical path and key dependencies are effectively managed to achieve successful outcome.
+ Reviewing detailed execution plans and schedules with the project management and Service Engineering team lead to ensure adequacy, completeness, and harmonization with the overall program level plan.
+ Advising the customer on the physical installation of multiple types of tactical radio equipment on ground-based platforms.
+ Travel averages 50% and may exceed 75%.
+ Role may involve atypical hours based on customer need.
+ Must be able to lift/carry up to 35 pounds unassisted.
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience **or** an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
+ Must hold a current and valid driver’s license.
+ Must be a self-starter with great time management skills.
+ Experience performing equipment integration, post-installation test, and certification activities as required.
+ Experience training customers and system users ad-hoc or in the classroom.
QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:
+ Previous field service experience and previous range experience (maintenance/operators/etc).
+ Prior service experience with Manpack radio.
+ Prior military experience.
+ Experience with software defined radios and associated installations.
+ Prior knowledge of soldier carried and vehicle mounted encrypted radio systems.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
