Position Overview:
You will be responsible for leading, developing, and maintaining the RTX Virtual Directory Service (RTX VDS).
As the VDS Manager within Directory Management at RTX, you will work collaboratively with a team to support critical, high-performing systems, including LDAP, Ansible, JAVA-JVM tuning and VDS infrastructure. Success in this position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, cost-effective environments across directory services. You will play a key role in partnering with program teams to define computing requirements, deliver end-to-end solutions, and address complex Directory Services challenges, including identity system code updates.
This role requires active participation in team-based agile methodologies, contributing to code reviews, updates, and meeting deliverables within two-week sprint cycles.
Additionally, if a people manager, you will lead a team of professionals, focusing on their growth and development. This includes setting and managing goals, providing constructive feedback, and advocating for the success of team members to foster a high-performing and collaborative environment.
What You Will Do:
+ Administer and maintain Linux systems and services, leveraging system for efficient operations.
+ Collaborate effectively as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced technological environment.
+ Create custom solutions using programming languages like Python, Golang, Bash, PowerShell, and/or Java to address specific needs.
+ Provide Tier 3 advanced support for Linux systems administration, applying advanced troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical issues of moderate to high complexity.
+ Design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines within GitLab to streamline development workflows.
+ Develop infrastructure as code solutions with CI/CD integration, aligning with SDLC and DM operational requirements.
+ Develop, maintain, and execute reusable Ansible playbooks and roles to automate system configurations, application deployments, and infrastructure provisioning.
+ Manage and optimize large-scale distributed LDAP identity systems, including attribute schema management, access control instructions (ACIs), system integrations, and automation frameworks to ensure secure, scalable and compliant identity services.
+ Configure and manage local firewalls, make firewall/DNS requests as well as troubleshooting networking issues
+ Utilize network analysis tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and TShark to capture and analyze network packets.
+ Work closely with Cybersecurity teams to uphold security standards, develop documentation, deliver training on advanced digital processes, and manage additional assigned tasks.
+ Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features through iterative development cycles.
+ Provide expertise in supporting LDAP, Radiant Logic VDS, Unity Sync systems, and overseeing application patching processes.
+ Document and maintain clear and comprehensive runbooks, system architecture, and best practices.
Qualifications You Must Have:
+ Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
+ Demonstrated 5+ years of experience delivering enhancements in dynamic environments utilizing agile methodologies applied at scale.
+ At least 5 years of experience in reading and understanding one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Golang, Bash, PowerShell, or Java.
Qualifications We Prefer:
+ Skilled in patching systems and applications to maintain security and performance.
+ Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Red Hat LDAP, Azure, and Entra ID.
+ Proficient with Windows OS, Red Hat Linux, VMware Suite (VDI, ESX), Prometheus, and Grafana.
+ Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including firewalls, DNS, and transport protocols.
+ Experienced with SQL, Excel, data mapping, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Familiar with ITIL best practices in Incident and Change Management.
+ Hands-on experience in IAM operations with demonstrated leadership skills.
+ Adept at troubleshooting complex issues and working independently.
+ Strong analytical, communication, and presentation abilities.
+ Quick to learn new tools and technologies; collaborative and results-driven team player.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
