What You'll Do
We’re looking for Senior Strategist, Communications to join our Global Communications team. In this role, you'll provide proactive strategic counsel to and partnership with business and enterprise partners by prioritizing, developing, and leading the execution of the communications strategies, executive and enterprise platforms, and message development that enhance brand messaging, tell a Principal story, and support high-level enterprise strategy and business objectives. You'll be a key problem-solver for complex communications needs and issues management.
+ Regularly and proactively consult with executives, business, and enterprise partners to develop holistic messaging and communications strategies that support business and enterprise initiatives. Effectively prioritize and sequence various communications needs, pulling in resources within the broader communications team to support and execute. Collaborate with colleagues across the team and organization to ensure consistent, integrated messaging and execution on issues that matter most to our brand, our business, and our stakeholders.
+ Develop key executive and/or enterprise platforms – defining the topics, messages, venues, and vehicles to execute. Form close partnership and consult with executives on complex communications issues, providing guidance and strategy inclusive of all Principal stakeholder needs.
+ Develop and align on metrics that help demonstrate the effectiveness of communications for various audiences, implementing refinements to increase impact as needed.
+ Write and edit a variety of communications materials including speeches, talking points, emails, media pitches, social media posts, articles, and presentations on industry and Principal-specific topics.
+ Perform other functions, special projects, and duties as assigned.

Who You Are
+ Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus at least 8 years’ experience in writing, communications, public relations, or marketing
+ Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and oral and written communication skills
+ Ability to take a strategic, creative, and integrated communications approach to solve complex communication issues required
+ Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and prioritize competing demands resiliency and negotiation/influencing skills and ability to work with ambiguity are also critical
+ Must have basic PC skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and pay strict attention to detail
+ Business unit and company product knowledge preferred
+ Experience providing strategic, action-oriented counsel to senior executives
+ Must consistently meet deadlines
+ Occasional travel may be required
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$100800 - $182400 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
