Overview:
The Sales Operations & Effectiveness leader serves as a senior partner to the Head of National Sales, responsible for integrating strategy into disciplined execution across the Consumer Branch Network. This role brings together sales strategy, performance analytics, enablement, and governance to create one cohesive operating system for how the bank sells, learns, and measures success.
This leader will define the frameworks, procedures, and tools that simplify execution for sales leaders and frontline associates, ensuring the operating model is scalable, transparent, and aligned with enterprise goals.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Operations Infrastructure & Governance / Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration
+ Integrate sales processes, governance, and performance standards across the network to maximize consistency and clarity for all associates.
+ Design and document a robust “how we operate” framework, including policies, procedures, process flows, and controls that ensure consistent and high-quality sales execution at every banking center.
+ Develop and enhance job family structures, role definition, and success profiles that clarify responsibilities , competencies, and performance expectations.
+ Act as a connector across Sales, Finance, Marketing, Risk, and Technology to ensure alignment and clarity of execution.
+ Establish regular governance routines and inspection mechanisms that ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to defined standards.
+ Partner with Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Technology to keep systems, reporting, and policies in lockstep with enterprise sales strategy.
Banker and Manager Routine Development
+ Build, standardize, and continually refine daily, weekly, and monthly routines for bankers and branch managers, detailing structured client engagement, sales tracking, internal coaching, and operational best practices.
+ Align routines to defined job families and role expectations, ensuring clarity in what great performance looks like at every level.
+ Leverage associate feedback and performance data to ensure routines drive consistent behaviors and superior results.
+ Develop guides, checklists, calendars, and meeting templates to keep all associates focused and aligned on key activities that drive client experience and business growth.
+ Partner with Field Enablement and Learning & Development to roll out routines with clear training, support, and accountability mechanisms.
Process Design & Standardization
+ Map, write, and maintain end-to-end sales process documentation, from lead generation through client onboarding and retention.
+ Facilitate cross-functional working sessions that ensure decisions are data driven, inclusive, and outcome focused while translating enterprise initiatives into actionable field programs.
+ Identify and eliminate duplication, friction, and inefficiency across regions, creating simplified and standardized procedures applicable in all markets.
+ Define and manage version control for all playbooks, SOPs, and sales operations guides, ensuring bankers and managers always access the latest materials.
+ Partner with Change Management and Field Enablement to support smooth, adoption-focused process roll-outs.
+ Lead the ideation, design, and management of multiple proofs of concept and pilot programs, rigorously evaluating effectiveness and facilitating successful scaling of innovations across the organization.
Business Review Process Simplification & Execution
+ Assess and redesign all levels of the business review processes, replacing complexity with clear, outcome-focused frameworks.
+ Develop simplified business review templates and tools that enable managers and associates to quickly identify performance drivers, gaps, and next steps.
+ Create standardized agendas, scorecards, and dashboards for routine business reviews, enabling transparency, accountability, and collective action at all levels.
+ Ensure business reviews consistently link activity, output, and outcomes, driving disciplined operational execution and faster decision-making.
+ Train and support associates and managers on leveraging the simplified review process to ensure high adoption and impactful execution.
Performance & Measurement Framework
+ Develop national sales scorecards, linking performance standards to KPIs and desired outcomes.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and leadership to conceptualize, develop, and implement innovative incentive and recognition programs that effectively drive associate performance and support business objectives.
+ Define metrics and establish a measurement infrastructure for sales productivity, efficiency, and client experience.
+ Build executive dashboards and branch-level reports that provide clear, actionable insights on progress against goals and required adjustments.
Vendor Management & Tool Optimization
+ Evaluate and govern adoption of sales enablement tools, analytics platforms, and CRM systems to improve efficiency and accuracy in the field.
+ Document and govern workflows for tool usage, data integrity, and established reporting cadence.
+ Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring alignment to business objectives and measurable value delivery.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
+ 10+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Process Design, or Organizational Effectiveness within financial services or a regulated enterprise.
+ Demonstrable success building and implementing scalable routines for sales associates and managers.
+ Proven ability to codify complex business models into clear, actionable operating standards and frameworks.
+ Expertise in process documentation, change management, performance measurement, and operational governance.
+ Strong analytical skills, executive communication, and cross-functional leadership abilities.
