BJC HealthCare System is hiring a **Part-Time Lab Associate I -** **_Phlebotomy_** **(early day shift)** for **Memorial Hospital Shiloh -** **Laboratory-MES (** **_Memorial East Shiloh:_** **_1404 Cross St., Shiloh, IL) -_** **Rehabilitation Center (TRISI).**

***$500 Sign on Bonus*** for eligible candidates

Position Details:

+ **Part-Time (20 hours per week) – not eligible for benefits**

+ **Day Shift Hours: Monday – Friday (5am- 9am) with one Saturday a month**

+ Duties - Phlebotomy, patient preparation, venipuncture or fingerstick, sample labeling and storage, and ensuring proper hygiene and safety protocols. Play a role in patient education and communication, as well as maintaining patient records and equipment.

Experience:

+ 1 year of Phlebotomy experience (preferred but not required)

**Memorial Hospital Belleville** is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services plus critical and emergency care including Children’s at Memorial for pediatric emergency care. Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection.

Responsibilities

+ Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.

+ Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.

+ Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
