Overview

WuXi AppTec is looking for a highly motivated Research Associate II to join our biophysics team in Natick, MA. This role will provide lab support for both small and large molecule client projects using a range of biophysical techniques.

Responsibilities

+ Support biophysical binding assays

+ Follow SOP’s and perform SPR, TSA, MST, and other biophysical assays as required

+ Support instrument maintenance

+ Understanding of protein sciences, including binding affinity and kinetics

+ Effectively communicate with internal team colleagues and external clients to promote world class services

Qualifications

Experience / Education

+ Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or a lab-based discipline required. 2+ year of work experience is preferred

+ Demonstrated strong understanding of complex scientific procedures and technical proficiency with in vitro based assays

+ Outstanding written and oral communication and interpersonal skills to seamlessly fit into a team-oriented environment

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

+ Basic troubleshooting and planning skills

+ Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication abilities

+ In vitro lab skills (pipetting, measuring, following lab protocols)

+ Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)

+ Ability to work in a team environment

+ Must be able to read, write and understand English.

Physical Requirements:

+ Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions.

+ Must be able to work in Lab setting with exposure to biohazards, chemicals

+ Must be able to wear appropriate PPE

+ Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels

+ Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time

+ Ability to Lift 10 lbs. routinely

+ Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach

+ Ability to push/pull 10 lbs. routinely

+ Clarity of Vision

The anticipated base pay rate for this role is $21.00 - $28.00/hour
