    The Program Coordinator II (Student Research), under general supervision, works collaboratively with leadership to coordinate the student research program at the School of Engineering Medicine (EnMed).

    Required Education and Experience

    + Bachelor’s degree in applicable field

    + Four years of higher education, student support, event coordination, or closely related experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Master’s degree in higher education

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    + Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

    + Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills

    + Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgement

    Responsibilities:

    Student Research Program Coordination

    + Help match students with faculty who have similar areas of research interest

    + Coordinates student research projects

    + Generate student project databases, identify student needs, help match students based on needs with appropriate research projects

    + Support students by identifying external opportunities for conferences, presentations, posters and papers

    + Assess research program effectiveness on a continual basis, prepare reports

    Administrative Support

    + Collaborates with the Director of Student Research and the Sr. Assoc Dean of Engineering and Research in program activities such as conference organization

    + Plans, develop, and execute faculty-student mixers

    + Assists in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs and events.

    + Assists in preparation of budgets for programs

    + Assists in establishing short and long-term goals.

    Communication and Team Cooperation

    + Acts as a liaison between EnMed faculty and student researchers with Houston Methodist faculty and staff.

    + Communicate with office of evaluation and assessment and work with them to assess program effectiveness

    + Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders.
