JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Accounting Coordinator to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts payable processes related to international shipping and logistics ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. The individual will be expected to work closely with internal teams and external vendors to maintain smooth operations within the Accounts Payable department.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Receives communication from our international and domestic partners regarding shipment details and update purchase orders in the ERP system accordingly
+ Verify accuracy of shipping documents (BOLs, commercial invoices, packing lists, etc.) against invoices and purchase orders
+ Prepare the cost analysis for incoming shipments and update the ERP system to ensure that all costs are captured before delivery
+ Upon receipt of shipment, enters accounts payable trade invoices into the ERP system
+ Work with trade vendors on any billing issues that may occur
+ Maintain a working relationship with the customs broker and ocean freight lines to ensure accurate billing and timely delivery of shipments
+ Create and maintain electronic storage for all shipping documentation and ensure compliance with audit requirements
+ Other duties as assigned by the Accounts Payable Manager
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
+ Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
+ 3+ years of experience in accounts payable with a focus on international shipping.
+ Strong understanding of international trade, customs documentation, and cross-border invoicing.
+ Ability to effectively manage competing priorities with a sense of urgency.
+ Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
+ Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
+ Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
+ Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
