    Basic Job Functions:

    Provide leadership and guidance to build an accident-free workplace. Support the Engineering, Operations and Maintenance teams by providing timely information as it relates to structures, platforms, access ladders, stairs and foundations. placing emphasis on safety, equipment reliability, and cost control. The responsibilities of a Civil/Structural Engineer at Nucor include but are not limited to designing small buildings, platforms, equipment supports, and foundation systems following relevant codes. Reviewing and checking civil/structural drawings. Working with others to continue to grow as an Engineer.

     

    The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and documentation for all Civil/Structural improvements and upgrades across the Hot Mill and Cold Mill. Be available at all times as a technical resource and subject matter expert for engineering, maintenance, and operations. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to engineering ethics and department goals, be self-motivated and have the ability to articulate and make effective decisions.     Minimum Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering2. 3 years of experience in structural design and engineering

    Preferred Qualifications:

    1. Degree emphasis in Structures2. Professional Engineer (PE)3. RISA-3D experience4. Experience utilizing laser scanning technology to aid with design
