    Duties Description Greater Binghamton Heath Center is currently recruiting a Rehabilitation Assistant 1 to assist clinical professionals in providing rehabilitative services to individuals with mental illness. As a Rehabilitation Assistant 1, you will work under the supervision of a Rehabilitation Counselor or other professional staff and will focus on assisting clinical professionals in providing rehabilitation services including:• Interviewing and gathering information from individuals• Assisting in conducting assessments• Assisting in planning and conducting rehabilitation activities

     

    Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as Rehabilitation Assistant 1 if they have 1 year of experience assisting individuals with daily living skills, taking care of their personal needs, and ensuring a comfortable home environment.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.Please Note: After 2 years of satisfactory experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant 1, you will advance to the Rehabilitation Assistant 2, SG-14, without further examination.
