WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR As the Sr. Principal, Strategic Partnerships, you will report to the Sr. Director of Strategic Partnerships and be responsible for designing and executing innovative partnership models that accelerate Innovation key initiatives. You will also play a critical role in the development of our overall partnerships strategy and be responsible for the execution and ongoing optimization of a broad range of partnerships. To do this job, you will need a unique combination of attributes. You have a passion for, and good understanding of, technology and product. You have significant experience in multiple disciplines, including business development, operations, finance, and strategy. You have the ability to see the big picture and the personality to roll up your sleeves and do the work. Similarly, you have experience building momentum and aligning multiple constituencies within large organizations, and a credibility with and understanding of the startup and venture capital communities. You are capable of defining a vision, marshaling resources, executing on an initiative and presenting the results to Senior Leadership. Requirements for the position include: + Bachelor's degree + MBA, JD, or advanced degree is strongly preferred + 5 to 7 years' total experience in strategic planning, corporate development, business development, investment banking, management consulting, finance or related fields + Broad deal experience ranging across a wide array of deal structures and responsibilities on deals, particular expertise in intellectual property transactions strongly preferred + Experience working in corporate development / business development team strongly preferred + Strong network across venture capital, private equity, investment banking, universities and entrepreneurs + Proven track record of successful development of business development strategy, and prioritizing, sourcing, managing, executing and integrating opportunities against strategy + Prior experience in innovation, manufacturing, product development, or related fields strongly preferred + Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally + Ability to lead virtual teams, manage complex projects and work in creative environments + Self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous environments + Demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and develop financial models + Problem structuring and strategic problem-solving skills + Excellent written and oral communication skills + Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON + Research, source, evaluate, and manage portfolio of partnership opportunities across Nike’s Innovation teams + Work in collaboration with Global Strategy and Business Development on execution of partnership strategy + Develop and manage third party relationships across a network of potential partners including venture capital, private equity, investment banking, universities, entrepreneurs / start-ups, and established companies + Implement integration plans of partnerships into Nike matrix + Drive business case development, deal strategy and appropriate deal structures inclusive of joint development, joint venture, minority investments, and acquisitions + Manage internal and external deal teams through the deal process We offer a number of accommodations to complete our interview process including screen readers, sign language interpreters, accessible and single location for in-person interviews, closed captioning, and other reasonable modifications as needed.
