    Localization Engineer - Remote

    *This position is a remote role. The candidate may be asked to come on-site during the interview and onboarding process.*

    Responsibilities

    + Troubleshoot localization engineering issues, such as finding and resolving errors within the Component Content Management System (CCMS), utilizing Translation Management System (TMS) and localization workflow behaviors.

    + Develop and execute automation strategies to streamline localization processes, including integration of various systems and content extraction.

    + Evaluate existing automation processes to identify areas for enhancements to optimize processes.

    + Provide regular updates to team members and stakeholders, on automation progress, issues, and resolutions.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to understand localization requirements, identify automation opportunities, and implement tailored solutions.

    + Provide technical leadership to localization team on complex technical issues related to localization.

    + Improve accuracy and performance of Machine Translation (MT) models.

    + Collaborate with data scientists, linguists, and software engineers to develop and fine-tune MT algorithms in collaboration with suppliers.

    + Process and curate large multilingual datasets.

    + Clean and align parallel source and target text to train MT models. Manage MT models using neural networks, such as Transformer-based architectures.

    + Evaluate model performance to identify areas for improvement in collaboration with the Localization Quality Specialist.

    + Monitor MT tool performance, identify errors and address issues promptly. Integrate automation solutions with localization tools, version control systems, multimedia systems, (CCMS) and Content Management System (CMS) to create seamless end-to-end automation pipelines.

    + Manage existing connectors to other tools.

    + Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.

    + Develop and implement standard operating procedures and automation opportunities.

    + Test and implement new localization projects, track performance, and identify improvements.

    + Stay up to date on the latest technological updates and recommend ways to improve the existing setup.

    + Develop and enhance testing frameworks and tools, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and adaptable to different projects and technologies.

    + Develop and maintain technical instructions, guides, and best practices.

    + Develop and upkeep Localization Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reports based on different management systems data pulls.

    + Connect KPIs to Power BI.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + 5-7 years related experience

    + Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or Engineering)

     

    _Non-degree considered if 12+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED_

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience in designing and implementing automation solutions for localization process, with a focus on web-based content or software localization.

    + Experience with at least one modern programming or scripting language (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Python, Rust, Pearl, etc.).

    + Knowledge of Machine Translation technologies and tools.

    + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify automation opportunities and implement effective solutions.

    + Knowledge of content development cycle with different CMSs and TMSs.
