    Primary Care Advanced Practice Provider – Rush Oak Lawn

    Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, is seeking a dedicated Primary Care Advanced Practice Provider to join the Primary Care Team at Rush Oak Lawn Outpatient Center, a multispecialty outpatient practice.

     

    We are excited to announce a major expansion at the Rush Oak Lawn Outpatient Center, adding Primary Care services starting in February 2026. The expansion of Primary Care Services in Oak Lawn is a key part of Rush’s mission to deliver top-tier care and excellent patient outcomes across the Chicago area and Northwest Indiana. Help us grow a thriving practice that delivers integrated primary and specialized patient care within our community!

    In addition to the new Primary Care services, the Rush Oak Lawn Outpatient Center currently offers a range of surgical and medical specialty services, including:

    + **Surgical Specialties:** General Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Bariatric Surgery, and Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Oncologic Surgery.

    + **Medical Specialties:** Medical Weight Loss and Breast Cancer Care.Key Responsibilities

    + Function in a dyad model alongside primary care Physicians

    + Provide high-quality, comprehensive acute and routine medical care

    + Deliver patient care to patients of all ages within the scope of practice granted in accordance with RUMC medical staff bylaws

    + Promote interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure cost-effective, quality patient outcomes

    + Exemplify Rush's mission, vision, and values in all patient interactions and professional activities

    + **Preferred Qualifications:**

    + _Applicants with two (2) years of Advanced Practice Provider experience in Primary Care are preferred._

    + _Preference for candidates who can practice independently with minimal supervision_

    + The Advanced Practice Provider (APP)is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.Rush has over 400 APPs across the enterprise that provide comprehensive patient care each day autonomously and in collaboration with other members of the health care team. With a Director of Advanced Practice and 34 Lead APPs across the system, Rush’s vision is to have every APP practicing at full scope and top of license.     + Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse

    + Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position

    + Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)

    + Maintains State of Illinois and Federal DEA license

    + Must maintain Rush University Medical Center (RUMC), Rush Oak Park Hospital (ROPH), and Rush Copley Medical Center (RCMC) clinical privileges, as applicable.

    + CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications.

    + Excellent communicator

    + Experience treating patients of all ages

    + Procedural experience (simple laceration repair, I&D) **Physician Assistant:**

    + Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate

    + Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program

    + Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants

    + Must maintain Rush University Medical Center (RUMC), Rush Oak Park Hospital (ROPH), and Rush Copley Medical Center (RCMC) clinical privileges, as applicable

    + Excellent communicator

    + Experience treating patients of all ages

    + Procedural experience (simple laceration repair, I&D)Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign-on bonuses, and relocation allowances.
