Responsibilities Overall program responsibility for the Quality, Safety and education portfolio for the Sterile Processing Department for the Rochester campus. This role will focus across the Rochester Campus in all areas of Sterile Processing, High Level Disinfections and Low-Level Disinfection. Serves as quality management subject matter contact person/liaison for quality management staff at the department and division level **.** Develop and implement quality assurance and safety programs for sterile processing operations. Key Responsibilities: Develops a Quality, Safety and Education Strategic plan for the department Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and guidelines. Conduct regular audits and inspections of sterile processing procedures and equipment. Provide training and education to sterile processing staff on best practices and safety protocols. Investigate and address any quality or safety issues that arise. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless and safe patient care. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quality and safety activities. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in sterile processing. Hiring, training, staff advancement and development, coaching and performance management. The Director of Quality and Safety must have a broad view of the program objectives and organizational culture and processes. This includes having a solid understanding of stakeholders, their needs and expectations, and acceptance of program objectives. This position requires strategic visioning and planning skills to align program goals and benefits with the long-term goals of the organization. The Director of Quality and Safety is responsible for leading the quality and Education teams, identifying interdependencies, communicating program requirements, tracking progress, making decisions, and resolving conflicts and issues. The position requires coordination and collaboration external partners, and program/project managers across the organization. The incumbent creates a customer service driven focus adept at working collaboratively with physician and administrative partnerships, and across sites, shields and departments . The Director of Quality and Safety has the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds to build relationships across the organization. The position will require direct and/or indirect supervision and evaluation of staff, contractor/vendor resources, and other internal or external resources. Qualifications Master's degree with 3-5 years experience Quality or Safety Management. Demonstrated success in serving as the leaders in managing large, complex, project initiatives. Requires skill in effective decision making and consensus management. Strong understanding of program management, project management, business process development, resource management, risk management, and stakeholder management. Experienced in leading teams of direct/indirect staff, staff development and team building. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, high level of emotional intelligence, self-motivated, commitment and strategic insight, and highly organized. Demonstrated history of continuing education in project management and administrative processes. Knowledge and understanding of current practice, education, research, and administration directions and challenges. Committee and consensus-managed, physician-led organization, and operations management. The following licensure/certification is preferred: Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL), Subject Matter Expert Associate for Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI TIR-119), and/or completed silver quality academy. Exemption Status Exempt Compensation Detail $119,454.40 - $179,108.80 / year Benefits Eligible Yes Schedule Full Time Hours/Pay Period 80 Schedule Details Typical schedule is normal daytime working hours M-F however scheduling flexibility outside of normal daytime business hours may be necessary to support department needs.
