Ready to shape the future of resilient communities? Our Wilkes-Barre, PA office is seeking a driven Staff I Engineer to join our growing environmental team. As a Staff I Engineer, you’ll dive into site investigations, support design and remediation efforts, perform field sampling and inspections, and help develop reports and permitting documents, all while gaining hands-on experience and collaborating with experts to solve real-world environmental challenges. What You'll Do: + Conducting field activities including collecting samples of various environmental media (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and air) + Participating in environmental investigation programs including Phase l/ll Environmental Site Assessments + Invoice/budget preparation and budget tracking + Data compilation, reduction, and interpretation + Evaluating environmental regulations + Preparing environmental reports + Contractor liaison/oversight for investigation and remedial programs + Problem-solving using standard engineering / scientific methods + Coordinating project tasks, implementing fieldwork, participating in remedial design efforts + Demonstrate effective analytical, interpretive, time, and project management skills What You Bring: + Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering, geology, or science related field + 1-2 years of relevant experience + Proficient with MS Office Suite of products + Able to conduct some fieldwork with heavy lifting + 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training a plus + Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle + Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check Salary Range: 26.00 - 28.00 Benefits: + Flexible Work Environment + 401(k) with Company Match _Verdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
