    Your future team:

    Purchasing Aftermarket North America team is represented by 6 purchasing professionals, based in Shippensburg-PA, managing around 50 MUSD in business-to-business (“B2B”) relationships, in both USA and Canada.

     

    We are part of Purchasing Americas and work with peer organizations around the world.

    What you will do

    The position will support various projects and activities within the team related to:

    + Supplier Delivery Precision Analysis

    + Support with Critical supplier issues

    + Work on purchasing projects that will support continuous improvement

    + Direct Material costing support

    + Supplier relationship support

    + Research supplier invoice discrepancies versus VCE established pricing, document and take appropriate actions with the supplier and Commodity managers as required.

    + Send out quotes to approved suppliers

    + Place production and prototype orders with approved suppliers

    + Support internal and cross functional communication and collaboration

    + Support our global footprint with supporting sourcing activities

    + Participate and support the various purchasing meeting forums

    + Work in accordance with the Volvo CE processes, the Volvo Way, and the Volvo values and behaviors

     

    Who are you?

     

    + Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree at an accredited school.

    + Applicants must have completed 30 semester hours before the internship starts and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.

    + Teamwork & Collaboration skills: Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with various departments.

    + Communication skills: Clear communication with suppliers, team members, and stakeholders is crucial.

    + Basic Understanding of Supply Chain Principles: Understanding how the supply chain operates, including logistics, inventory management, and procurement processes.

    + Microsoft Excel skills: Data management, including basic functions, pivot tables, and data visualization.

    + Basic Financial Acumen: Basic understanding of how costs are structured in purchasing and the impact on profitability.

    + Familiarity with ERP systems: Basic understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software like SAP.

    + Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

    + English (US): Fluent, preferably as native l

    + No need for immigration sponsorship by the company: Ability to work and live in USA.

    At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
