    IT Applications Manager

     

    Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

    Position Summary:

    The IT Application Manager – Revenue Cycle is responsible for the strategic oversight, implementation, and optimization of enterprise applications supporting front and back end healthcare revenue cycle. This leader ensures that technology solutions align with operational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to drive efficiency, accuracy, and financial performance.

    Responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Lead the lifecycle management of revenue cycle applications including scheduling, registration, financial clearance, charge capture, billing, claims processing, payment posting, and collections.

    + Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Patient Access, HIM, Finance, Clinical Operations, and other IT professionals/leaders to identify technology needs and deliver solutions that enhance workflow and data integrity.

    + Oversee system upgrades, integrations, and enhancements in platforms such as Cerner/Oracle Health, Star, and third-party tools.

    + Manage a team of analysts and application specialists; provide mentorship, performance management, and professional development.

    + Serve as the primary liaison between IT and Revenue Cycle leadership to ensure alignment of application functionality with business objectives.

    + Develop and maintain project roadmaps, timelines, and resource plans for application initiatives.

    + Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and other regulatory standards in all application configurations and data handling.

    + Monitor system performance and user satisfaction; lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize application usage and ROI.

    + Facilitate vendor relationships and contract management for revenue cycle technologies.

    Preferred Skills:

    + Understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle, including front-end (scheduling, registration), mid-cycle (coding, charge capture), and back-end (billing, collections) processes is a plus

    + Proven experience with enterprise EHR and revenue cycle systems (e.g., Oracle Health/Cerner, Star, SSI).

    + Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex IT implementations.

    + Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with clinical, financial, and executive leadership.

    + Experience with system integration and interface management across scheduling, billing, and collections platforms.

    + Familiarity with revenue cycle KPIs and performance dashboards.

    + Ability to translate operational needs into technical requirements and vice versa.

    + Change management and training experience in a healthcare setting.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education:

    Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or information management. Alternatively, related field, equivalent work experience, and or certification will be considered. Masters level education preferred

    Minimum Experience:

    Eight (8) years of increasing responsibility in related work experience is required. Supervisory and IT project management experience required. Experience in healthcare environment preferred.

    Licensure Requirement:

    Employee must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license Class D and state mandated minimum insurance coverage. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.
