We are seeking a dynamic and experienced technology leader to guide our large Site Reliability Engineering team in supporting Humana’s clinical business. This senior technology leadership professional will collaborate with cross-functional teams to oversee production environments spanning on-premises and cloud platforms, including SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, and Databricks.
The role involves driving the maintenance and strategic upgrades of our web server infrastructure, which supports mission-critical applications built on modern .NET, Oracle APEX, and rule engine technologies. You will champion process improvement and documentation, adapting our support operations to the rapidly evolving technology landscape. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in integrating AI initiatives and automation to enhance operational efficiency and reliability
Key Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with design engineering, testing, product engineering, quality, manufacturing, and marketing teams to drive product delivery and resolve technical issues.
+ Perform engineering tests to verify and validate product designs, supporting the evaluation and qualification of advanced technology components.
+ Oversee production schedules and ensure product compliance with specifications and quality standards.
+ Provide expert technical support to address and resolve product-related customer issues.
+ Influence departmental strategy by making decisions on moderately complex to complex technical matters, working independently and exercising significant latitude in determining objectives and approaches.
+ Drive process improvement, documentation, and the integration of AI initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
+ Lead automation pipeline advancements to support Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
+ Engage with SRE AI task force to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies for requirements gathering, prioritization, testing, and implementation.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
+ Five (5) or more years of relevant technical experience.
+ Demonstrated expertise in current application and infrastructure technologies.
+ Experience in technology solution assessments and strategy planning.
+ Proficiency in layered architecture across multiple domains.
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across varying organizational levels.
+ Experience in testing and deployment processes.
+ Commitment to continuous improvement of consumer experiences.
+ Openness to working within a support and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team responsible for ensuring 24x7 system availability. This role may require off-hour attention in the event of critical issues; while there is no on-call rotation, the candidate must be prepared to participate in “all hands on deck” efforts for major incidents. Routine on-call responsibilities are managed by a separate team.
+ Demonstrates openness and adaptability to all supported systems, with the ability to learn and excel across diverse technologies. This is a large team that supports systems on legacy on prem technologies, as well as latest cloud-based systems.
Preferred Qualifications
+ MBA or other advanced degree.
+ Experience with SQL Server, Oracle Database, MongoDB, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Snowflake.
+ Exposure to high-availability, high-volume services and job scheduling (e.g., SSIS, Streamsets, $U).
+ Experience supporting mission-critical applications built on .NET, Oracle APEX, and rule engine technologies.
+ While this role is considered remote, most of the team is located in Louisville, KY and regularly attends the office. It would be beneficial for the candidate to be based in Louisville and able to join the team in person on occasion.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$106,900 - $147,000 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
