Job Description: Automation Technician
The Automation Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the automation team by assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of assembly equipment used in manufacturing operations. The position involves hands-on work with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to ensure efficient and reliable equipment performance.
Responsibilities
+ Assist in the build and debugging of automated machinery and systems.
+ Align and configure vision inspection systems.
+ Debug and set up PLCs, HMIs, and servo systems.
+ Repair machine components including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic parts.
+ Read and interpret blueprints to build or modify equipment.
+ Fabricate minor components such as brackets and spacers from drawings.
+ Set and adjust pneumatic cylinder sensors and travel distances.
+ Align and configure sensors for proper machine functionality.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.
+ Follow safety, environmental, and quality procedures, including ISO/IATF standards.
Essential Skills
+ Basic understanding of machine control systems and troubleshooting.
+ Familiarity with PLC programming and feeding/sorting bowl systems.
+ Safe operation of power tools and equipment.
+ Knowledge of pneumatic valves, tubing, and airflow adjustments.
+ Understanding of sensor integration and machine functionality.
+ Awareness of safety protocols in a production environment.
+ Basic knowledge of vision systems, electrical wiring, and robot controls.
+ Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures.
+ Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
+ Skilled in using hand tools, drill presses, and band saws.
+ Capable of completing work orders and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required.
+ Training in mechanics or electronics is beneficial but not mandatory.
+ Forklift certification is a plus.
+ Experience in building and wiring enclosures.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Exposure to vision systems.
+ Hands-on experience with power tools.
+ Experience with CNC/Grinder is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
