    Job Title: Licensed Building Envelope Architect

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Licensed Building Envelope Architect to perform forensic investigations of building envelope failures. The successful candidate will diagnose failures in building envelope systems and recommend remediation solutions. This role requires fieldwork to document as-built conditions and damage from natural and human-induced origins, utilizing building codes and technical knowledge to establish repair scope recommendations.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform forensic investigations of building envelope failures.

    + Diagnose and recommend solutions for remediation of building envelope system failures.

    + Conduct fieldwork to document conditions and damage to building systems from natural and human-induced origins.

    + Utilize building codes and construction practices to establish repair scope recommendations.

    + Evaluate design drawings and documentation.

    + Communicate effectively with clients, code officials, and contractors to address construction issues.

    + Prepare detailed reports.

    + Manage multiple project assignments, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution.

    + Retain and develop client relationships.

    + Travel as needed, sometimes on short notice.

    Essential Skills

    + State of New Jersey Licensed Architect through NCARB’s ARE examination.

    + 3+ years of knowledge in building envelopes.

    + Ability to carry and climb ladders for roof access and navigate steep-slope roofing.

    + Willingness to travel throughout the US.

    + Eligibility to work in the United States with a good driving record.

    + Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program.

    + Minimum 10 years of architectural experience in design or related fields.

    + Experience in property loss and construction defects.

    + Familiarity with building roofing systems and national building codes.

    + Understanding of heat, air, and moisture control principles.

    + Field experience with strong written and oral communication skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Multiple state registrations or ability to obtain.

    + Experience in litigation support, including expert testimony.

    + Registered Roof Observer (RRO) and Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) designations are a plus.

    Work Environment

    The position operates Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm in an office setting, with travel required across the country, especially in response to national disasters.     This is a Permanent position based out of Somerville, New Jersey.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $165000.00/yr.

     

    401K match, ESOP participation, medical, dental, vision, and paid vacation.

     

    Workplace Type

     

    This is a fully onsite position in Hillsborough,NJ.
