    Job Description

    Join our In Vitro Cell Culture team as a Research Associate, where you will contribute significantly to our efforts in discovering trends in biological samples. You will work with a variety of samples, including plasma, blood, urine, and feces, from both animal and human sources. This role involves executing basic wet chemistry techniques and maintaining cell cultures, with a strong focus on cell culture methodologies.

    Responsibilities

    + Work with biological samples such as plasma, blood, urine, and feces.

    + Support the in-life team by processing samples and running basic wet chemistry techniques.

    + Maintain and grow cell lines in preparation for assays.

    + Operate Mass Spectrometry equipment and perform extractions.

    + Conduct animal study-related tasks using test tubes and cell lines.

    + Seed cells onto assay plates and harvest them.

    + Run extractions and handle analytical techniques like plate readers and LC-MS.

    + Perform studies from start to finish, including sample extraction and analysis.

    Essential Skills

    + B.S. degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, or related life science field.

    + 2-4 years of sterile cell culture experience, with industry experience preferred.

    + 2-4 years of experience with sterile techniques and tissue culture.

    + Proficiency in biology, biochemistry, tissue culture, cell culture, and aseptic techniques.

    + Accurate pipetting skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Master's degree in the biological sciences is a plus.

    + PCR experience is beneficial, though not required.

    + In vitro DMPK experience is advantageous.

    + A scientific mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and perform literature research independently.

    Work Environment

    Work in a busy lab environment within the Metabolism In Vitro team. This team collaborates closely with the in-life team, adapting to changing work forecasts every 6-8 weeks. The lab is part of a larger organization focusing on drug development. Expect a dynamic atmosphere with opportunities for professional growth and development.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, Wisconsin.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $28.84/hr.
