    Now Hiring: Environmental Scientist / Asbestos Inspector – Environmental Compliance

     

    Pay Rate: $30–$35/hour

    About the Role

    Join a growing environmental team working on high-impact NYC agency projects. We’re hiring for a hybrid role that combines responsibilities of an Environmental Scientist and Asbestos Inspector, ideal for professionals passionate about public health, environmental compliance, and fieldwork.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Conduct environmental field investigations, sampling, and inspections.

    + Perform lead-based paint and asbestos inspections in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

    + Prepare detailed inspection reports and project documentation.

    + Ensure compliance with EPA, HUD, NYS Department of Health, and other regulatory standards.

    + Assist in project planning, data evaluation, and report preparation under senior staff guidance.

    + Maintain accurate field records and communicate findings to project managers and clients.

    + Adhere to health, safety, and quality standards during field operations.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, or related field.

    + 2+ years of field or lab experience in environmental inspections.

    + 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (required).

    + Current NYS Asbestos Inspector or EPA Lead Inspector license (in good standing).

    + Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

    + Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Familiarity with lead-safe work practices and environmental sampling methods.

    + Experience using field inspection software and data collection tools.

    + NYS Asbestos Inspector certification (if not already held).

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
