             Job Title: Histotechnician III Job Description The Histotechnician III will perform all routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in a state-of-the-art CAP-certified pathology laboratory. Under the guidance of a Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high-quality diagnostic material within established turnaround times. Responsibilities + Cut, stain, and perform tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry Laboratory. + Perform accurate gross description on tissue samples. + Execute quality control procedures for each method and maintain accurate records. + Operate all instruments and equipment according to written procedures, identifying and resolving any issues. + Meet acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section. + Recognize testing errors or discrepancies, notify appropriate personnel, and assist in problem resolution. + Record, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol. + Assist in identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results. + Review accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing. + Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turnaround time guidelines. Essential Skills + Proficiency in histology, microtomy, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting, and routine special staining techniques. + Knowledge of pathology, staining, and laboratory procedures. + 5-7 years of experience in the field. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science. + Formal training in Histology from an accredited program (720 hours). + State Licensure where applicable (CA, FL, NY require licensing). + Meets CLIA personnel standard criteria. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
