    Entry-Level Field Engineer – Substation Projects

    Overview

    Are you ready to launch your engineering career in the field? We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Field Engineer to support substation design and construction projects. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity ideal for individuals who are passionate about hands-on work, eager to learn, and looking to grow within the power and utility sector.

     

    This role is approximately 70% field-based, offering the chance to gain real-world experience while contributing to critical infrastructure projects. A company vehicle will be provided for field assignments.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in the design and implementation of substation projects under the guidance of senior engineers.

    + Conduct field visits to gather site data, monitor construction progress, and ensure compliance with design specifications.

    + Support the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates using CAD tools.

    + Collaborate with project teams to coordinate equipment deliveries and maintain project schedules.

    + Perform basic engineering calculations and assist in technical evaluations.

    + Maintain accurate documentation and reports from field activities.

    + Ensure safety and quality standards are upheld during all phases of the project.

    + Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and internal teams.

    Qualifications

    + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. (must have)

    + Basic understanding of electrical systems and design principles. (preferred)

    + Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) is a plus.

    + Willingness to travel frequently to project sites.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    + Valid driver’s license required.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
