Job Description: Project Engineer
We are seeking a Project Engineer focused on Research and Development (R&D) and New Product Development (NPD) initiatives. This role involves designing innovative products, including components and assemblies, to meet evolving requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with the Advanced Programs team to execute ammunition research and development programs.
+ Design new products, ensuring they are producible and affordable, to support the warfighter's evolving requirements.
+ Conduct assembly and component analysis through hand calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and engineering simulations such as Finite Element Analysis.
+ Assemble and test prototypes in both lab and ballistic settings.
+ Plan projects and phases, track task completion, and coordinate with functional and subcontracted support teams to drive execution of analyze-design-test-validate cycles for product development and qualification.
+ Develop and present subsystem and system technical design reviews.
+ Work under limited supervision, making data-driven decisions and preparing technical justifications and reports for management review.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science; related engineering degrees considered.
+ Experience in the defense industry.
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD modeling with an understanding of GD&T standards.
+ Experience with mechanical design and analysis tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
+ Strong project management and organizational skills.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, supervisors, and customers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Permanent resident of the United States (ITAR restrictions).
+ Experience in customer relations and program/project needs qualification.
+ Understanding of internal and external ballistics and lethal mechanisms is a plus.
+ Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (MS Project is a plus).
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
