Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Associate Scientist to join our Product Sciences team and support the analytical development and characterization of Lentiviral Vector (LVV) and CAR-T cell products. The successful candidate will execute molecular, cellular, biophysical, and biochemical protocols, contribute to routine testing, and maintain high-quality laboratory records. This position works closely with the Senior Scientist and other team members to advance our pipeline and analytical capabilities.
Responsibilities
+ Execute and support bioanalytical assays for characterization of Lentiviral Vector (LVV) and CAR-T cell products, following established protocols and under the guidance of Senior Scientists.
+ Perform routine and advanced laboratory experiments to assess T-cell binding, activation, transduction efficiency, payload expression, and antigen-specific cytotoxicity.
+ Prepare and maintain detailed experimental records in electronic lab notebooks, ensuring data integrity and compliance with company standards.
+ Assist in the development, qualification, and transfer of analytical methods.
+ Maintain clear and accurate records of experimental work using an electronic notebook system in accordance with company guidelines.
+ Prepare summaries of technical data and contribute to technical reports.
+ Support documentation for IND submissions by compiling data, preparing technical reports, and contributing to method write-ups.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research and Process Development, to coordinate sample testing and share results.
+ Participate in troubleshooting and optimization of assays as needed, contributing to continuous improvement of analytical workflows.
+ Adhere to company policies and exemplify core values to ensure safety and quality of gene therapy products and facility.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with in vitro mammalian cell culture and associated wet lab skills.
+ Proficiency in pipetting, FDA regulations, aseptic techniques, ELISA, PCR, and protein quantifications.
+ Ability to prepare for IND work and conduct flow cytometry.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ BS in Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 4+ years of experience; or an Associate Degree in life sciences or similar with 6+ years of experience.
+ Hands-on experience with cell culture, primary cell-based cytotoxicity assays, flow cytometry, ddPCR, MSD, JESS, and ELISA.
+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to build open and collaborative relationships.
+ Experience with viral vectors, such as LVV, is a plus.
+ Experience with experimental design, execution, and basic data analysis is a plus.
+ Self-motivation, organization, effective communication, and presentation skills.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize work on multiple projects.
Work Environment
The team consists of four members, including this position. The role requires 100% compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements in laboratory environments, including gloves, protective clothing, and eye safety glasses. Physical tasks involve standing, walking, bending, kneeling, sitting, working hands in a biosafety cabinet, and occasionally moving materials up to 50 pounds. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.91 - $53.00/hr.
