             Job Title: Field EngineerJob Description Join us as a Field Engineer, a pivotal role in commissioning building automation systems for diverse projects including K-12 schools, clinics, data centers, and pharmaceutical buildings. You will ensure that our systems operate efficiently and meet customer specifications, contributing to improved building performance and sustainability. Responsibilities + Travel to new construction projects to perform point-to-point checks on building automation systems. + Utilize an iPad to verify settings and controls, conducting diagnostics to ensure correct operation. + Follow and update drawing packages as needed. + Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems utilizing advanced Direct Digital Control technology. + Serve as the local contact for technical issues and lead field operations. + Provide effective solutions for complex system issues and offer turnkey project delivery on small to medium projects. + Ensure systems operate correctly, including controls, sensors, and software. + Load software and configure trends, alarms, and reports. + Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction. + Communicate and document project status and details for customers. + Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on complete systems. Essential Skills + 2+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or technical field. + High School Diploma or GED. + Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, controls, and mechanical engineering. + Capability to climb ladders or use lift equipment over 8 feet and lift items up to 50lbs. + Valid and current Driver’s License, insurable by the company’s insurance. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree, associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field. + Experience with building automation software such as WebCTRL. + Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technology. + Proficient in the use of an electrical multi-meter. + Good understanding of common HVAC systems and ability to read and understand HVAC mechanical prints. + Experience in customer or contractor interaction. Work Environment Work primarily on-site at new construction projects including schools, hospitals, data centers, and bio-pharm buildings. Collaborate with internal engineers, contractors, and client representatives. Initially based in Madison, WI, with potential travel to markets such as Milwaukee and Green Bay. Approximately 70% travel required, with the remaining 30% spent working from the Madison office or home. Company provides a laptop, equipment, and vehicle. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, Wisconsin. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $41.00/hr.
