    Job Title: Environmental Wetlands Consultant

    Job Description

    We are seeking a full-time Environmental Wetlands Consultant to lead the revitalization of our growing engineering consulting firm's wetland delineation group.     Responsibilities

    + Travel locally to perform visual site inspections, collect data, and mark relevant landmarks.

    + Identify hydrophytic vegetation, hydric soils, and wetland hydrology indicators and boundaries.

    + Prepare detailed delineation reports, including maps, data sheets, and photographic documentation using tools such as ArcGIS.

    + Interact professionally with landowners, work crews, and other stakeholders.

    + Prepare technical maps using QGIS and AutoCAD and develop remediation plans for contaminated sites.

    + Participate in pre-construction site evaluations and post-impact monitoring.

    + Conduct Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

    + Communicate directly with clients and government agencies.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of experience in wetland delineation and stream evaluations.

    + Experience with federal Clean Water Act Section 404 permits and state Section 401 water quality certifications.

    + Proficiency in technical writing and environmental engineering.

    + Strong skills in ArcGIS, QGIS, and AutoCAD.

    + Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, geology, or related field.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience in Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.

    + Wetland Professional in Training (WPIT) certification is a plus.

    + Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and travel as required.

    Work Environment

    This position involves approximately 70% office work and 30% fieldwork, with sites located in Central Ohio. Travel is conducted in company vehicles. Employees benefit from profit sharing, holiday bonuses, and the opportunity to be part of a re-established wetlands delineation service.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
