    The University of Miami/UHealth Department OBGYN has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Data Analyst 2 (H) to work in Miami, FL. The Data Analyst 2 performs a variety of data analyses using various techniques. The Data Analyst 2 assists in developing or implementing systems to capture business operation information. The Data Analyst 2 analyzes data to ensure the accuracy of reported information and generated reports and identifies opportunities to enhance data collection and analysis. The incumbent works collaboratively with other internal areas and may guide less experienced data analysts.CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

     

    + Performs data analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining.

    + Determines best practices and recommends actionable insights for the current business operations.

    + Performs ad-hoc analyses and reporting, to aid management in the decision-making process. May build dashboards or reporting systems for end users pertaining to assigned project(s).

    + Provides business data interpretation, such as identifying trends or patterns of data sets.

    + Assists in the dissemination and reporting data, which may include presentations, workshops, and related activities.

    + Analyzes data to ensure accuracy and reports any issues to management. Identifies opportunities to enhance data collection and analysis.

    + Assists in developing or implementing systems to capture business operation information.

    + Guides less experienced data analysts.

    + Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

    Department Specific Functions

    + Performs a variety of data analytics to support the needs, goals, and objectives of the project.

    + Interprets research findings.

    + Applies proficient writing skills to contribute to publications.

    + Identifies appropriate data sources to conduct and execute analyses.

    + Verifies accuracy and internal consistency of reports, including required state and federal reports.

    + Provides feedback and assistance on honing conclusions and recommendations into actionable findings.

    + Ensures proper technical documentation and preparation of tabular and written reports and gives oral presentations.

    + Formulates term-specific, ad hoc, and trending reports.

    + Develops groupings of statistical reports.

    + Designs, develops, and maintains a dashboard of key information and balanced scorecards.

    + Develops procedures for input to the database by analyzing variables and optimizing algorithms to maximize utilization in assigned area.

    + Participates in the organization and presentation of information systems to demonstrate best practices.

    + Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

    + Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

    + Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

    + Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

    + Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

    + Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

    + Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

    + Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

    + Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office)

     

    Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
