Job Title: Asbestos Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Asbestos Inspector to perform comprehensive surveys and sampling of building materials to identify potential asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, and other contaminants. You will also assist in environmental sampling of soils, water, dust, and indoor air. The role involves monitoring services by overseeing abatement and remediation contractors, documenting work, and conducting post-abatement inspections. Staying current with best practices through internal training and external lectures is essential. Additionally, you will perform other related duties as required.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct surveys and sampling of interior and exterior building materials for asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, and other contaminants.

+ Assist in environmental sampling of soils, water, dust, and indoor air.

+ Oversee abatement/remediation contractors and document work processes.

+ Conduct post-abatement visual inspections and clearance/re-occupancy air or other applicable sampling.

+ Stay updated on planning practices, guidelines, and best management practices through training and lectures.

+ Perform other duties as requested.

Essential Skills

+ High school diploma.

+ Licenses/certifications in asbestos inspection, asbestos project monitoring, and lead inspection.

+ 0-4 years of related practical experience.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.

+ Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

+ Possession of reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits.

+ Valid driver's license in good standing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

+ Asbestos Certifications.

Work Environment

This role requires working in various environments, including construction sites and office settings. The position demands reliable transportation and adherence to safety protocols. The dress code is professional, suitable for site visits and client meetings.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of New Haven, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
