    Job Title: Histotechnician / Histotechnologist

     

    Schedule: Full-Time | Night Shift Available

     

    Employment Type: Direct Hire

    Position Summary

    We’re seeking a certified Histotechnician or Histotechnologist to join a high-performing clinical pathology lab in Charleston. This role is responsible for preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination and supporting diagnostic workflows with precision and consistency.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and routine/special staining (H&E, IHC, etc.)

    + Prepare and label slides for pathologist review

    + Operate and maintain lab equipment including microtomes, cryostats, processors, and stainers

    + Ensure specimen integrity and accurate documentation throughout the workflow

    + Follow established protocols for quality control and regulatory compliance

    + Collaborate with lab staff to maintain a safe, efficient, and productive work environment

    Qualifications

    + ASCP certification (HT or HTL) / Open to obtaining (HT/HLT) within a year of employment

    + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology or related field

    + Previous experience in a clinical or hospital-based histology lab preferred

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

    + Familiarity with lab safety standards and HIPAA compliance

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
