    The Director, Human Resources, oversees and manages all HR functions across multiple, geographically dispersed locations. This role requires frequent travel to distribution centers and production facilities to ensure consistency in HR policies and practices and to provide hands-on support to local leadership.

    Principle Responsibilities

    Leadership and strategy

     

    + Align HR with business goals: Translate overall business objectives into HR strategies to support company goals, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, and employee retention.

    + Provide guidance to location leadership: Act as a strategic partner and advisor to location leaders on all HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, and compliance.

    + Manage Location HR teams: Lead, coach, and develop HR professionals located at various sites, ensuring they are equipped to deliver effective HR services.

    + Travel and on-site support: Conduct regular site visits to provide hands-on operational support, assess HR needs, and build relationships with local management and employees.

     

    Operations and compliance

     

    + Safety: Create a culture of Safety by overseeing the development of policies and programs meant to mitigate organizational impact on the environment and protect employees from health and safety risks found in the organization in compliance with all local, state, and federal policies.

    + Standardize HR processes: Design and implement uniform HR policies and procedures as applicable across locations to ensure consistency and compliance.

    + Navigate local regulations: Monitor and ensure that all facilities and practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws, which can vary significantly by location.

    + Handle employee relations: Address and resolve complex or escalated employee relations issues and disciplinary matters across multiple sites.

    + Recruitment and onboarding: Partner with local management and corporate recruiting teams to develop and execute effective hiring and onboarding strategies to attract top talent for each site.

    + Manage compensation and benefits: Collaborate with corporate HR to administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive and fairly applied across all locations.

     

    Employee experience and development

     

    + Promote positive culture: Actively foster a positive, engaging, and consistent workplace culture across all sites that reflects company values.

    + Drive performance management: Administer and oversee the performance management system, providing guidance to site managers on employee development, goal-setting, and performance reviews.

    + Implement training programs: Identify training needs at different locations and collaborate with leadership to implement development programs that enhance employee skills.

     

    Qualifications and skills

     

    + Travel availability: Willingness and ability to travel frequently (up to 50–90%) to visit sites.

    + Leadership skills: Strong ability to lead, coach, and mentor HR teams and to influence and advise managers.

    + Strategic and hands-on mindset: Must possess both the strategic vision to develop HR plans and the hands-on approach to execute them in the field.

    + Problem-solving: Exceptional problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills to handle complex employee relations issues.

    + Interpersonal and communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as the ability to build effective relationships with people at all organizational levels. Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred

    Education/Experience

    + A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree or certifications like SHRM-SCP or SPHR are a plus.

    + At least 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including management roles, with a strong background in multi-site operations within a relevant industry (e.g., manufacturing, distribution).

    + Solid understanding of labor laws and regulations

    + Experience working with highly confidential information while maintaining discretion

    + Strong commitment to providing world-class customer service

    + Proficiency in processing, reporting, and inputting information into HRIS; Ideally ADP

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

     

    The posted salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 annually, plus bonus. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
