Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Production Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical aptitude, the ability to read a tape measure, and experience in a production environment. This role involves consistent lifting of 50lbs or more and requires at least six months of previous production experience.

Responsibilities

+ Support operators and other production associates in maintaining quality and production standards.

+ Load steel bars onto packaging machines and operate various machinery.

+ Wrap steel with bands and attach shipping labels accurately.

+ Cut steel by measuring it to customer-specific requirements.

+ Monitor operations to ensure efficiency and quality.

+ Operate forklifts, machines, and cranes as needed.

Essential Skills

+ Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read a tape measure.

+ Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or machine operation.

+ Ability to lift 50lbs consistently.

+ High attention to detail and safety-oriented mindset.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 1-2 years of manufacturing experience is preferred.

+ Familiarity with tape measure, production, construction, and general labor tasks.

+ Experience with forklift, crane operation, and saw operation is advantageous.

Work Environment

This role operates in a non-climate-controlled environment on a large campus with multiple buildings. Steel-toed shoes are required, and attire should be weather-appropriate, including jeans and a t-shirt or long sleeves. The position offers various shifts: 1st shift (6am-4pm), 2nd shift (4pm-2am), and 3rd shift (10pm-6:30am). Flexibility in start times is needed as shifts may begin one hour earlier or later.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
