Job Title: Production Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a diligent Production Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves loading and working around railcars while also operating machines that process products from start to finish on a production line. Responsibilities include monitoring product loading into bags, operating scales to ensure proper weight, manually sealing bags, palletizing materials, ensuring proper labeling, handling powders, and engaging in physically demanding tasks such as lifting at least 50 lbs regularly and handling corrosive materials. While working with the rail cars you will be outside in the elements all year around.
Responsibilities
+ Load and unload railcars outdoors and up high
+ Operate machines that process products from start to finish on a production line.
+ Monitor the product being loaded into bags and ensure proper labeling.
+ Operate scales to ensure proper weight and manually seal bags.
+ Palletize materials and handle powders efficiently.
+ Lift at least 50 lbs regularly and handle corrosive materials safely.
+ Work in a dusty and non-temperature controlled environment.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in general production and machine operation.
+ Ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
+ Attention to detail and adaptability to varying workloads.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2+ years of production/manufacturing experience preferred.
+ Experience in landscaping, construction, detasseling corn, or farming is advantageous.
+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.

Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position in Des Moines, Iowa. The role operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 4pm-12:30am, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for early starts or late finishes. Initial training is conducted in the morning shift for the first two days. The facility is dusty, non-temperature controlled, and involves handling chemicals with potential strong fumes. Uniforms and shoe protection are provided. The Mill Team consists of 8 members, working in an environment with fluctuating workloads and opportunities for overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $21.75/hr.
