Job Title: Machine Shop Supervisor
Job Description
As a Machine Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for scheduling and assigning tasks to machine shop staff to ensure timely completion of projects. You will direct all labor and equipment resources in the machine shop and train machinists to ensure steady production with First Time Quality. Promoting safety, good housekeeping, and adherence to company policies and procedures is a critical part of this role.
Responsibilities
+ Schedule and assign tasks to machine shop staff for timely project completion.
+ Direct labor and equipment resources, train machinists for steady production with First Time Quality.
+ Promote safety, good housekeeping, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
+ Participate in employee selection, termination, discipline, time management performance, and wage reviews.
+ Drive a quality-based program to prevent rework and promote higher standards for finished components.
+ Verify employees' work and time recording to the correct job assignments.
+ Assist production personnel in troubleshooting and developing technical manufacturing requirements, including tool selection and training.
+ Drive 5S and continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
+ Interact with shop floor personnel, management, and customers.
+ Plan and communicate resource schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
+ Work overtime and weekends to support schedule commitments.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machine shop supervisor/foreman.
+ Strong background in manual machining, including lathes, mills, VTL’s, and HBM’s.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong and positive leadership skills.
+ Ability to verify tolerances within ≥ .0003’’ -.0005’’.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
+ Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ CNC experience is a plus, but not required.
+ Experience in rotating equipment repair is preferred.
+ Experience with safety-related and/or nuclear work is preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $79000.00 - $95000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Chesapeake,VA.
