    We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in interpreting blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, selecting the appropriate type and size of pipe, and preparing and assembling piping components.

     

    Pay (30-34 to start + Per Diem and overtime)

    Responsibilities

    + Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including locations, quantities, and material specifications.

    + Select the type and size of pipe and related materials according to specifications.

    + Cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipes using appropriate tools and equipment.

    + Prepare, cut, fabricate, layout, fit, position, and assemble piping components in various positions.

    + Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for welding.

    + Install hangers, supports, valves, and components according to piping system plans and specifications.

    + Perform leak tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and piping systems.

    + Identify and properly use necessary tools, such as grinders, drills, and beveling machines.

    + Operate forklifts and overhead cranes.

    + Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in pipe fitting and blueprint reading.

    + Ability to read prints and construction drawings.

    + Competence in interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and instructions.

    + Skill in reading and understanding weld symbols, weld procedures, mechanical and structural drawings.

    + Proficiency in using Oxy/fuel and Plasma hand cutting torch, plasma cutting.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with pipe fitting codes such as B31.3, B31.4, and API 1104.

    + Welding and/or tacking experience using the GTAW process.

    + Familiarity with weld inspections and inspection documentation.

    + NCCER Certification as an Industrial Pipe Fitter.

    + Formal or technical education in a relevant field.

    Work Environment

     

    The position involves working onsite at various new construction and industrial sites. The standard schedule is from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The role will initially require travel until more local projects begin, typically not exceeding three-week stints. Travel outside of 50 miles will include paid per diem.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ladson, South Carolina.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
