Job Title: Equipment Operator

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious **Material Handler** for a **morning shift** position in **Louisville, Kentucky** . This **Contract to Hire** role involves handling coils and other customer products, with a focus on overhead crane operation, forklift usage, shipping and receiving, and rigging. The ideal candidate will follow established work instructions, quality procedures, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and accurate material handling.

Responsibilities:

+ Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move, load, and unload coils and materials.

+ Perform shipping and receiving duties, including verifying and documenting incoming and outgoing shipments.

+ Open and close crates or containers containing coils or other customer products.

+ Inspect coils for damage and ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.

+ Attach identifying tags or labels to coils or mark information on crates, pallets, or containers.

+ Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine materials to be moved, hung, or crated.

+ Secure or remove lifting attachments and rigging as needed.

+ Lift coils manually when necessary to assist with loading/unloading.

+ Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

+ High School diploma or GED

+ 3 to 9 months of related experience and/or training preferred

+ Ability to read and understand safety instructions, work orders, and company policies

+ Basic math skills

+ Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb

+ Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs

Compensation:

+ **Pay Rate:** $17/hour

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
