Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Description

As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will coordinate the movement and storage of raw materials, finished products, and parts, ensuring material availability and timely delivery to meet production schedules. Your role includes compiling data on order volume, production schedules, and forecasts, applying statistical methods to estimate future material requirements. You will support manufacturing operations, possibly setting up and operating automatic or semi-automatic machines, and reporting any machine malfunctions or abnormalities. Your responsibilities may include shipping, receiving, inventory control, and product storage in distribution centers.

Responsibilities

+ Coordinate incoming and outgoing movement and storage of materials.

+ Ensure material availability and timely delivery to meet production schedules.

+ Compile data on order volume, production schedules, and forecasts.

+ Apply statistical methods to estimate future materials requirements.

+ Support manufacturing operations, including assembly, machinery, processing, packaging, and distribution.

+ Set up and operate automatic or semi-automatic machines in a continuous production/processing operation.

+ Report malfunctions or abnormalities in machines.

+ Engage in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or product storage in distribution centers.

+ Communicate with internal contacts within and outside of the immediate team.

Essential Skills

+ Attention to detail

+ Experience with RF scan gun

+ Ability to weigh components and apply labels

+ Interacting with clean rooms

+ Knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and packaging

+ Forklift operation

+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Vocational or technical education or certification

+ Forklift training

+ Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs

+ Experience working on feet most of the day

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.
