Job Title: Machine Shop Technician
Job Description
As a Machine Shop Technician, you will collaborate with prototype machinists to create innovative parts for the Matter Compiler™. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our machine shop, focusing on efficient workflow and high-quality production.
Responsibilities
+ Load stock material and tooling, and operate CNC mills or CNC lathes.
+ Cut parts using laser and waterjet cutters.
+ Prepare and cut stock materials to specified dimensions.
+ Deburr, wash, and package machined parts.
+ Use inspection tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
+ Maintain machine fluids and perform basic equipment maintenance.
+ Organize work areas, clean equipment, and put away tools.
Essential Skills
+ 1–5 years of experience in a machine shop environment.
+ Proficiency in using basic shop equipment like bandsaws, belt sanders, and drill presses.
+ 3+ years of experience with manual milling and lathes.
+ Preventative and corrective maintenance skills.
+ High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience operating CNC mills and CNC lathes.
+ Familiarity with Fusion and Fusion CAM or other CAM packages.
+ Basic metrology skills and understanding of GD&T.
+ Good communication and math skills.
+ Logical thinking and vision.
+ Ability to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment
Work at our onsite manufacturing facility in Berkeley, operating during the evening shift from 12:30 AM to 9:00 AM.

This is a Permanent position based out of Berkeley, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $93600.00/yr.
