    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Journeyman who possesses a comprehensive understanding of one-line diagrams, area classifications, interconnect wiring diagrams, plans, details, and cable schedules. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with various electrical equipment and systems, including Motor Control Centers, MV-SWGR, MV-VFD’s, UPS hardware, and control system cabinets in PDC buildings.

    Must Haves

    + Journeyman Electrician license with 5 or more years of experience as a Lead Electrician.

    + Strong experience in installing power and control circuits, including MCC, switchgear, VFDs, UPS hardware, power transformers, distribution panels, and transfer switches.

    + Protection relay installation experience.

    + Experience with the installation of power systems for Midstream Oil & Gas, Refinery, and Industrial Energy clients.

    + Strong understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC) and electrical theory.

    + Effective communication skills with management, customers, and vendors.

    Responsibilities

    + Wire equipment according to one-line diagrams and cable schedules.

    + Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using diagnostic equipment and testing devices.

    + Install Motor Control Centers, MV-SWGR, MV-VFD’s, UPS hardware, and control system cabinets.

    + Install cable tray, conduit, raceway, VFD’s, LV MCC’s, MV/LV drives, Switchgear, UPS’, electrical panels, and Fire & Gas Systems.

    + Interpret electrical MV and LV one-line diagrams, load lists, hazardous area plans, wiring diagrams, schematics, electrical specifications, and data sheets.

    + Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices and tools.

    + Report on work progress and provide input to the Project Execution Plan.

    + Work independently and perform all tasks with minimal supervision.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Knowledge or familiarity with PLC panels and systems is a plus.

    + Motivated, self-starter who takes ownership of tasks.

    Work Environment

     

    This position is based in a non-climate controlled manufacturing facility. Most units will be built in the yard if they are too large to fit in the shop. The work schedule is a day shift from Monday to Friday, with weekends and additional hours as needed.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tomball, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
