    Job Title: Machine Operator

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled machine operator with experience in labeler operations, capable of effectively managing and preventing downtime by watching for jams and threading wrap. The successful candidate will perform filler and filler line changeovers safely and efficiently, making necessary adjustments to filler timing and check mat. Responsibilities also include preparing equipment for the next run, analyzing process and equipment performance data to enhance quality and throughput, monitoring product packaging, and preparing and reviewing case labels for accuracy.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate labeler machinery, watch for jams, and effectively thread wrap.

    + Perform filler and filler line changeovers safely and efficiently.

    + Adjust filler timing, filling, and check mat as needed.

    + Prepare equipment for size changes and next production run.

    + Analyze process and equipment performance data to improve quality and throughput.

    + Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of products.

    + Prepare case labels and review product labels for accuracy.

    Essential Skills

    + 1+ years of machine operating experience.

    + 6+ months of experience using a tape measure.

    + 6+ months of computer operation experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with general production, machine operation, and packaging.

    + Mechanically inclined and experience with hand tools.

    + Experience in blending and inspection.

    + Exp working on cars or other equipment, such as lube technicians, is beneficial.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is a dynamic manufacturing and production setting, involving exposure to various conditions such as high places, moving machinery, and temperature changes. It can be loud, with dust, odors, and fumes present. In Blending, employees work outdoors year-round and perform physical tasks such as climbing on railcars. In Packaging, employees work indoors where temperatures vary, especially in summer. The team size is about 90 people per shift. The dress code includes shorts or jeans, a clean work shirt, and steel toe (or composite) shoes. Shifts include A/B Shift (6:45 am-6:45 pm), C/D Shift (6:45 pm-6:45 am), Days (6:30 am-3:00 pm Mon-Fri), Nights (10:30 pm-7:00 am Sun-Thurs), and Mids (2:30 pm-11:00 pm Mon-Fri), with shift differentials for mids and nights.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
