Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

The Clamp Truck Operator ensures all units are properly banded with visible load tags when loading, and that there are no broken or missing straps on the units. This role involves staging units in the warehouse, loading and unloading trailers safely and efficiently, performing visual quality inspections on items, and ensuring accurate counts and paperwork for units and truck loads. This position would also be using a sit down propane forklift to load and unload trucks. They will also be conducting the final visual quality inspection of all items loaded and unloaded.

Responsibilities

+ Band all units properly and ensure load tags are visible when loading.

+ Perform visual quality inspections on items to verify there are no broken or missing straps.

+ Stage units in the warehouse and load/unload trailers safely and efficiently.

+ Ensure accurate unit and truck counts on trailers/carriers.

+ Verify accuracy of all paperwork related to loads.

+ Follow all safety and company policies, reporting any issues, accidents, or incidents immediately.

+ Complete monthly online safety training as assigned.

+ Read and understand the Wet End run schedule to lay down correct rolls for paper grades.

+ Drive and handle rolls safely in accordance with company rules and training.

+ Assist in peeling and prepping rolls if damaged; do not return damaged rolls to stock.

+ Prepare butt rolls for return to the roll room.

+ Clean and reorganize warehouse as needed to maintain a clean and safe work area and ensure proper stock rotation.

+ Unload trucks or railcars as required, following all paperwork and processes.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with Clamp, Clamp Forklift, Reach Truck, Stand Up Forklift, RF Scanner, and Clamp Truck.

+ Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies.

+ Competence in reading schedules and handling warehouse equipment safely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Flexibility in working hours and the ability to work extended hours.

+ Exemplary attendance record.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Cottage Grove, Minnesota.

2nd Shift 4PM-12PM

Must be willing and able to train from 8AM-4PM for 2-3 weeks for training and onboarding.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $52000.00/yr.
